Christine Sinclair Welcomes Canadians to Take the Battery Recycling Quiz for Earth Month

March 2026

Earth Month is approaching and it is a period when Canadians are seeking meaningful ways to play an active role in protecting the environment, and one simple action that they can take is to recycle their batteries. So, in April, Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! powered by Call2Recycle, is working with Soccer Icon Christine Sinclair to help educate Canadians about the benefits of recycling their batteries.

Throughout the month, Christine Sinclair will appear in new commercials that welcome Canadians to take the “Battery Recycling Quiz” and enter the “Earth Month Contest” for a chance to win $10,000.

Consumers will have an opportunity to respond to a few short questions that test their knowledge about the benefits of battery recycling, and how to do it properly.

This is the third year in a row that Call2Recycle is operating an Earth Month Contest, to raise awareness about the importance of battery recycling nationwide.  The results speak for themselves. In 2025 alone, Call2Recycle collected and recycled over 8 million kilograms of batteries through the program, an 82% increase since 2022, when this new approach was introduced.

The commercials will appear on digital channels such as Meta, YouTube and Google display as well as on National Television including news, sports and lifestyle channels.

From April 1-30, 2026 consumers can enter the contest by visiting RecycleYourBatteries.ca/contest/.
