Battery-Powered Products

In Quebec, 2022 regulations expanded to include certain battery-powered products with built-in batteries under 5 kg. To support compliance, Call2Recycle offers a turnkey collection and recycling solution through its Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! program.

The program ensures safe collection, transport, and recycling of eligible products, including items like electric toothbrushes, toys, smoke alarms, and flashlights, enabling battery recovery.

It helps manufacturers, importers, and retailers meet EPR requirements, while supporting municipalities and partners in managing these products safely. For added convenience, the program also accepts similar products with removable batteries.

E-Mobility Batteries and Devices

Through its Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! program, Call2Recycle offers turnkey recycling solutions for e-mobility batteries used in devices such as e-bikes, e-scooters, e-skateboards, and hoverboards.

In British Columbia, a separate program supports the collection and recycling of full e-bikes, including their batteries, providing a more comprehensive solution in that province.

Together, these programs help e-mobility battery and device producers meet regulatory obligations, while also enabling retailers, municipalities, and other partners to safely manage lithium-ion battery disposal, supporting sustainability efforts and broader ESG initiatives.

Vapes and E-cigarette Products

Call2Recycle, in partnership with vape producers, has launched the Recycle Your Vapes program to support the safe collection, management, and recycling of battery-powered vapes, e-cigarettes, and their components, including batteries.

As the first program of its kind in Canada, it helps producers meet their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations in Quebec while offering adult consumers a convenient and responsible recycling option. The program also supports municipalities by ensuring the safe handling of vape waste in their communities.
