Joe Borsellino and Peter Daley Appointed to Call2Recycle Canada’s Board of Directors

July 2019

New members add governance strength to Canada’s battery stewardship organization

Toronto, Ontario. July 25, 2019 – Call2Recycle Canada, Inc., Canada’s first and largest consumer battery recycling organization, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Joe Borsellino and Peter Daley.  Each brings extensive industry experience and valuable perspectives to the board, strengthening Call2Recycle’s leadership as regulated product stewardship becomes a key provincial strategy for achieving waste management and environmental goals.

A dynamic and experienced executive who has held leadership positions at Air Canada, Globe Electric, and now as VP Replenishment for Dollarama, Peter’s addition to the board increases representation from the more than 350 battery and product manufacturers and obligated producers that Call2Recycle serves and represents. “I look forward to bringing my knowledge of logistics management and background in consumer behaviour research, planning and marketing to the board to help guide its decision making and ensure Call2Recycle’s continued operational and promotional success,” he says.

Joe Borsellino, VP of Purchasing at Chateau Manis Electronics Inc. based in Quebec, deepens his connection to Call2Recycle with this appointment. “Having sat on Call2Recycle’s Quebec Council for the last two years, I am pleased to be expanding the scope of my work with the organization to the national level and increasing my impact,” says Joe. With a background that spans North American sales, purchasing and inventory control, Joe will bring insights that continue to streamline Call2Recycle’s operations and add value to its stewards.

“Joe and Peter are excellent additions to what has consistently been a high-functioning, engaged board of directors at Call2Recycle,” says Call2Recycle Canada, Inc. Board Chair, Norman Clubb. “We are experiencing exciting changes in Canada as provincially regulated product stewardship becomes a standard best practice in more and more provinces. Joe, Peter and the rest of our board help deepen Call2Recycle’s expertise allowing us to champion extended producer responsibility and support provinces to manage it in the best way possible. As Call2Recycle develops a program plan for Saskatchewan and awaits new regulations announced in Ontario, we are moving forward with a strong board that is committed to continued excellence, good governance and accountability for our stakeholders.”

Joe and Peter join 11 other professionals on Call2Recycle Canada’s board of directors, who collectively provide guidance and counsel on the activities of the organization, support its leaders by examining issues and making informed, balanced decisions, and steer the organization’s operations to ensure fiscal responsibility.
