Get Ready for the Circular Economy Contest with Christine Sinclair

September 2026

October is Circular Economy Month, a period when attention is given to the meaningful role that recycling plays in recovering resources. It is also a time when Canadians will seek to learn more about the circular economy and discover tangible ways to act in their daily lives.

To leverage this momentum, Call2Recycle is launching a national campaign featuring Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! Ambassador Christine Sinclair to raise awareness of battery recycling, direct consumers to local drop-off locations, and boost battery collections.

Throughout the month, Christine will appear in commercials that invite Canadians to take the “Battery Recycling Quiz” and enter the “Circular Economy Contest” for a chance to win $10,000.

Consumers will have an opportunity to answer a few short questions that assess their knowledge of how batteries are recycled, and how it supports a healthy circular economy.

The commercials will run across digital channels such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Google Display.

From October 1-31, 2026, consumers can enter the contest by visiting RecycleYourBatteries.ca/contest/.
