Overview
Call2Recycle’s turnkey electrified vehicle (EV) battery services support the ongoing development of a circular economy for EV batteries to mitigate health and environmental risks, encouraging options for reuse, repurposing, and recycling, and helping to power the transition to electrified transportation.
The EV battery program facilitates the collection and disposal of EV batteries for recycling or repurposing, as well as helping auto manufacturers who use EV batteries meet their waste-management obligations, and aiding EV automotive dismantlers and other partners dispose, transport, and/or repurpose unwanted EV batteries.
EV Battery Recovery
Through its leadership and expertise in battery management and recycling, Call2Recycle has been selected by almost all Canadian auto manufacturers and associations to develop and administer North America’s first-of-its-kind EV battery recovery program:
In Quebec, Call2Recyle also serves as the program’s logistics provider.
Call2Recycle’s industry-led EV battery program collects, transports, repurposes, remanufactures, and recycles eligible end-of-life batteries from hybrid, plug-in hybrid, all-electric and fuel cell vehicles. In doing so, it complements existing auto manufacturer programs for EV batteries under warranty, subject to recall, or slated for remanufacturing through existing processes.
Moving forward, Call2Recyle is expanding its EV battery collection program for cars to include larger vehicles, and we have established partnerships with several Quebec transit authorities to collect and manage end-of-life batteries from their electric bus fleets, and we will continue to engage more in these municipal programs.
